Things

Okay I know I said a while ago that I was going to make an update here explaining my absence back in January, but I've not gotten around to it then. It hadn't occurred to me until just now. So, I really owe you an explanation. Things have been rather chaotic with my life since last year. Since January came about, I've only just begun getting my life together. I don't really like to dump my problems on you guys and the fact that I am writing this now already defeats the purpose of what I want this blog to be about. But I want to explain myself to you, and know that I'm bouncing back into the fray of things. Around last may, my grandmother suffered an injury in which she fell off her chair.  She sprained her foot and hurt her hand, but because of her fragile nature, her recovery time can be rather poor. Coupled with the fact that she is a diabetic because she has to use this pacemaker that's only working her heart up to 80% efficiency. I haven't had much o...

(Blog) World Health Organization Fallacy. Or, how do I Psychology?

Videogames. What can be said about them? They are a fun and interactive gaming medium that immerses players into a world of adventure, action, coded in a way that  will make people feel the accomplishment of challenging themselves and... basically just having a stress-reliever. It is a way that makes us feel comfort and joy during our down times. So why then has there been so many controversial issues involving them? It is amazing how a majority of the controversy we seen in the past decade or two involves videogames in some ways. Many of these claims such as videogames are harmful to minors and it teaches children to become murders and killers when it has been proven many times to not be the case. (Case in point; mentally disturbed individuals suffering from bullying, domestic abuse, problems with school and peer-pressure.) Games were an outlet for them, and one could say it is a primary motivator. Bug I tend to disagree, as correlation does not equal causation. The wonders of Ps...

(blog) updates

Hello again faithful readers! Just letting you know that I'm working on a couple new projects. It's been a week, or rather two weeks now since Despair has released. I never expected to hit it hard and hit it far overnight but I am glad enough to be getting something as opposed to nothing. That being said, I'm splitting up my personal and professional projects. So expect more short stories and flash fiction articles from me in the future. I especially like get back to doing NDI stories. Atop of an introductory piece that will be the first in the universe of the supernatural sci-fi horror series. This will also include several retcons of established supplementary reading material. I want to diverge as far from SCP Foundation as I can. So things like 'Orientation Sheet' and Harrowing will undergo significant changes. Also expect more critical pieces and analysis writings in the future. Peace~!

(Blog) Kowloon is out on Kindle!

Hello folks! Looks like thing's are turning my way for once. To celebrate the occasion of my return, I figured it was high time I made another blog post about the news. Guess I didn't have to wait 72 hours for that. Anyways! Come check out  Despair: Shadows Under Kowloon. (Hell, even pirate it to your hearts content.) Criticism is greatly appreciate! And again, expect more content in the future. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DHH36VH/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1528126163&sr=1-1

(Blog)From the Grave

Hello readers! It has been quite a long time hasn't it? I think I've last been here was around... September or November since I've last paid a visit to this blog. Well good news for you guys! I am back. I feel as though I owe you all an explanation as to why I popped off with the promise of Kowloon being published  almost more than six months ago. To tell you the truth, I have no excuse really. I've just been stressed, I've slacked off on my passion, and I hit a few scrapes and burns during my last two semesters.  There were also computer issues but that is beside the point I am trying to make really. The point is, I had to get myself back together and shape up to make sure I will return with promises that I have failed to keep up, and actually deliver on them. So with that being said, Kowloon is currently under review in Amazon and hopefully, in 72 hours, it will be available for the store page. If not, then I will find a means to distribute the book through a ...

(Blog) Some plans and where I stand

Hello readers! I hope everything is going well on your end as it is for me. This is one of those rare moments where I post some personal stuff that may or may not interfere or tie with my creative projects. There's also going to be some plans I have in store for the future so that I can better manage, organize and track my work.  First off is some New Dawn Initiative stuff. I've not yet touched base on that for a while but I'm sure to bring in some new materials for the coming week. Expect a couple articles and some stories on the series.  Second; next week I will be back in college for my last semester for my duel major associates. It has been a long time coming given how different community college works and all that, especially given some early year complications. I expect my days to be short there since I've so few classes left to get my two degrees. Though that doesn't mean I won't have as much free time to devote into writing given the kind of schoo...

Prey: From a creative piece to a boring replica

Its hard for me to appreciate Arkane Studio and Bethesda/Zenimax's reboot of a highly underappreciated video game. Coupled with the potential sequel the original had before it was canned in favor of said reboot, it left a bad impression when I saw the initial trailer for it. And many of the underlying problems stems from a very severe case of unoriginality and uncreativity the game had. Sure the game mechanics were beautifully sound and the level designs were pretty decent, but said levels all looked exactly the same and there was hardly any substance to the style. Let alone the story itself is ill-motivating and very bland and ill-paced. From a decent genre of first person shooting sci-fi adventure/horror that was Prey, where the lines of supernatural elements and science fiction blends beautifully within a living starship, is brought down to a very ill-contrived reboot where familiarity and generalization takes the good out of everything that was to enjoy.  Arkane basical...

(Blog) Another update

Hey folks. Been a while. So I'm back in college for this semester and thing's have been pretty hectic on my end. Aside from classwork, I'm also doing other projects.  Hence why I've not gotten to doing MASS or NDI stuff as of yet. Probably might not get anything up anytime soon but I'll still keep you updated. Follow me on Twitter; AyyLmaos for all your updating needs!

(Blog)No Mans Sky; or, how I learned to scam the customers and get them to defend my lies

Image
With the release of No Mans Sky, I've found myself particularly irritable in the way that the final product came out as. With so much games trying to capitalize off the procedural generation world that Minecraft had launched in it's time (though to be frank, procedural generation existed before that) No Mans Sky looked like it was about to take the next step forward from there. Instead, it took twenty steps backwards. Starbound which is like Terraria, made an interesting step in how it could take it's procedural generation. Albeit on the Two Dimension. A massive galaxy to explore, massive procedural content with context to go with it. (And actual content that can entwine with the Procedural Generated content.)  No Mans Sky, upon first announcement and teaser, looked to be rather interesting. It had a neat concept and it looked like it would succeed and push the boundaries of procedural generation, with the inclusion of multiplayer (which said before, would b...

(Blog)About Spyro

Or should I say Skylanders? Whatever the case may be, it's not about Spyro anymore. It's nothing more than cheap, cash grab toy marketing scheme disguised as a game. Or a cheap, cash grab game marketing scheme disguised as a toy franchise. Take your pick. Since I first picked up my copy of the very first game my mother got for me when I was but a child losing his baby teeth, I've fell in love with the concept of Spyro. Both the games and character itself. Then I've had a big thing for dragons and still do today really. It was the era where 3D Platforming games dominated the gaming market, with Spyro competing against Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64. It was unique as it offered a completely different character with a unique different experience of platforming and mission based tasks with collect-a-thon elements in this beautiful and seemingly magical world where you are in control of an adventurous young purple dragon out to save the world of course. And it's ...

(blog) update

Been a bit occupied for the moment. But of course I've been working on other things including a prologue chapter for Mass as well as another ARG piece for Mass. Since it's summer I've had the opportunity to take a bit of RnR here and there without sacrificing too much writing time just relaxing. Course I'd be relaxing anyways even if I do or don't write. But yes! Expect to hear from me soon. :)

(Blog) The problem with reboots: In defense of James Rolfe

Image
The James Rolfe situation sure stirred up a massive storm. But that is to be expected when one tries to deflect any sort of criticism by means of accusing another of being sexist or prejudiced. In this case, a bunch of people are saying that about James Rolfe. That's the worst part about this fiasco. The bad part is that we're not allowed to have an opinion anymore.  So! In defense of James Rolfe, the Angry Videogame Nerd, I'm going to go into explicit detail exactly what the problem is and why many of us are infuriated with the directions and changes made to beloved classic films.  Rebooting a franchise is one of the most delicate processes that requires sensitive handling and care of the source material. Whether it be a film, book or movie, there are always going to be complications that will impede such an attempt. Of course, there are very few actually good film and game reboots made in the past. They stick as close to the source m...
